Just noticed how DC has subtly squashed and shrunk the Teen Titans logo on the covers.
I’ll admit the design I delivered took up a lot of real estate — designed on purpose to emphasise both the name (TITANS!), and to make it stand out next to the more popular DC books. I can only guess that a combination of extensive cover blurbs and making more space for the art (generally 1/3 of the cover is reserved for copy) has pushed the change. There are many examples of (comic) publishers modifying logos over time, either with participation of the original designer, or using their internal design teams — for more on that you should check out the many logo design articles on Todd Klein’s blog.
